Measuring carbon footprint

Learn how to calculate and understand your carbon footprint. This activity raises awareness about the environmental impact of everyday actions and encourages participants to adopt more sustainable practices.

Mr. Ibrahim will provide the link to the science teachers, asking them to assign it to students as an assignment on Google Classroom to be completed during Sustainability Week.

Students will be required to upload screenshots of their work to the assignment.

Carpooling

Students will advocate carpooling for the teachers. Teachers will be encouraged to share a car and come to school together. This cost-effective activity where people share rides in the same vehicle, typically to and from work, school, or other regular destinations is very ecofriendly. It helps reduce traffic congestion, lower fuel consumption, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

Al khor Beach clean up

Organizing a beach cleanup is a great way to contribute to environmental conservation and keep our oceans and coastlines free from pollution.

Permission needed from Al Khor Municipality.

Students will express your gratitude to all volunteers, sponsors, and supporters through thank-you cards, certificates, or other forms of recognition.

Cloth Donation (Reusing)

Implementing cloth recycling at QLA is a practical and educational initiative that can promote sustainability, teach students about responsible consumption, and reduce textile waste. It not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also instills valuable lessons about responsible consumption and waste reduction in students. It can become an integral part of the school's commitment to promoting eco-consciousness and community engagement.
