Food Waste & Food Loss Reduction Awareness

Our property is committed to reducing food waste and loss through proactive measures that align with sustainability goals. The program focuses on:

At Somerset Al Mansoura, we celebrated Sustainability Day with a series of activities focused on environmental awareness and community engagement. We provided each resident with a plant, encouraging them to nurture greenery at home. Our team also crafted two large community boards using old wooden stands and bedsheets, turning them into collaborative canvases for everyone to paint, draw, and share their thoughts on sustainability.

Qatar Islamic Bank is committed to optimizing its supply chain in an environmentally responsible manner. 

In this regard, QIB has partnered with DHL’s GoGreen Plus program, a key initiative aimed at reducing the carbon emissions associated with global logistics by leveraging the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) which has the potential to reduce aviation emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional jet fuels.

بمناسبة أسبوع الاستدامة، شاركت إذاعة قطر بجميع اقسامها في جمع كافة الأوراق والمواد القابلة للتدوير لإتلافها بطرق آمنة، وذلك للإسهام في نجاح المبادرة المقترحة من طرف قسم الأنشطة والفعاليات بإدارة العلاقات العامة للمؤسسة. “لنبني عالماً أفضل، علينا أن نبدأ بخطوة صغيرة نحو الاستدامة. حافظوا على البيئة لتكون ملاذاً آمناً للأجيال القادمة.”

We will be having Cafeteria Vegetable Day for all staff! This event is dedicated to celebrating fresh, local vegetables and promoting healthier eating habits in our workplace.

On this day, our cafeteria will serve an array of delicious vegetable dishes, from vibrant salads to heathy soups, showcasing the best of seasonal produce. It’s a fantastic opportunity to try new flavors and explore creative ways to incorporate more vegetables into our meals.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, our engineering team demonstrated remarkable creativity and innovation by repurposing waste materials into functional and aesthetically pleasing items. This initiative not only showcased their technical skills but also reinforced our commitment to environmental sustainability.

In our attempt to tackle waste management and promote sustainability, DPS-Modern Indian School embarked on a Zero Waste Challenge during Qatar Sustainability Week 28th September-3rd October 2024. This initiative aimed to raise awareness and foster behavioral changes towards reducing waste.
