American School of Doha is challenging all of the members of its community to limit their showers to no more than 1 song! Our HighSchool Effect Club started the challenge and now everyone is getting involved. Any song will do, but here is a playlist that will work well to think about water while not wasting it!

An engagement workshop dive through sustainability concept and Qatar profile focusing on strategic water infrastructure. Interactive  discussion on vulnerabilities and resilience of water infrastructure. 

Environmental Awareness- creating awareness about environmental. Creating landscaping children competition, Environmental quizzes, environmental art drawing & paintings.

Sustainability - Paint nature pictures, Make cardboard insects & birds, eco-friendly zoo with egg carton, Make a rag rug ( sewing rugs to useful bags).

Modern agriculture- Planting competition and agricultural art leg - painting planting pots. Turn your plastic  bottle to flower pot.

PICPA Doha joins with a planting ceremony during the 2024 Qatar Sustainability Week

School Wide:

1. Students will collect or bring plastic bottles and cans. They will put them in the recycling boxes provided by the school.

During their PE, Art and ECA lessons, these collected plastic bottles and cans will be recycled to create useful objects to be used in the school such as pencil holders, lamps, pots, etc.

Al Meera launched a campaign to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags

In celebration of International Plastic Bag Free Day,  Al Meera did not use any single-use plastic bags across all of its branches on this day to raise awareness and interest amongst the community.  Al Meera stresses that protecting the environment is its top priority and an integral part of its commitment to both the environment and society, pointing out that the initiative contributes to urging community members to choose eco-friendly shopping bags over plastic, ultimately reducing waste volume.
