As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable living, the Sustainability Committee at Doha College is delighted to share our plans for Qatar Sustainability Week 2025. Throughout the week, our students, staff, and families will take part in a range of initiatives designed to inspire greener choices and celebrate our collective responsibility towards our planet.
Primary School Uniform Recycling Drive
Primary students will collect worn-out uniforms for recycling, teaching the importance of circular fashion and waste reduction.

Subject-Integrated Lessons – Teachers across disciplines will integrate sustainability concepts into their regular lessons, helping students see environmental connections in English, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, the Arts, and more.

Recycling Bin Redesign Contest – Students will compete to create innovative, eye-catching designs for classroom recycling bins, promoting waste separation and long-term behavioural change.

Student-Led Social Media Campaign – High School Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) students will lead the school’s awareness and social media outreach for the week, sharing key sustainability tips, facts, and sharing students’ sustainability pledges to inspire the wider ISL Qatar community.

Student-Led Recycling Drives: Primary students coordinate the collection and recycling of e-waste, developing leadership and practical skills while promoting responsible consumption.

Waste-Free Lunch Week: Through a primary school initiative, students' model zero-waste practices by working with canteen staff to gather organic waste, which is then used in the edible garden patch composting project, reinforcing real-world learning about sustainability and circular resource use.
Primary Garden Tool Library: Families will be invited to participate in our green movement by donating or lending small tools for seasonal school projects, fostering community engagement and supporting hands-on environmental learning.

As part of our contribution to Qatar Sustainability Week 2025, our school community will focus on two student-led actions that give students an active role in protecting the planet:
Home Projects – Students will have the chance to create a sustainability project at home, together with their families. These projects could include posters, models, or small eco-friendly experiments. Once brought to school, the projects will be displayed for everyone to see, allowing students to proudly share their ideas and inspire their classmates.
