Climate and environmental research for sustainability is a critical field that focuses on understanding and addressing the challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation. The ultimate goal is to promote practices and policies that lead to a sustainable future for Qatar and its inhabitants.

Grades 7-11 will create murals on the theme “Green Earth’

Creating murals using plastic caps is a creative and eco-friendly way to repurpose plastic waste and contribute to environmental awareness. It is a way to raise awareness about plastic waste and recycling. It can serve as a visual reminder of the need to reduce, reuse, and recycle plastic materials.

Students with the help of teachers have researched ways to increase fodder production in Qatar. They will set up a hydroponic farm that can produce animal fodder from seeds in a week. The expected efficiency is 1:8 per kilo of the seeds used.

Students will be involved in planting trees and creating green spaces in and around an area to promote environmental conservation and provide various social, economic, and ecological advantages.

Students will advocate carpooling for the teachers. Teachers will be encouraged to share a car and come to school together. This cost-effective activity where people share rides in the same vehicle, typically to and from work, school, or other regular destinations is very ecofriendly. It helps reduce traffic congestion, lower fuel consumption, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions. Here's how to organize a carpooling activity:

Implementing cloth recycling at QLA is a practical and educational initiative that can promote sustainability, teach students about responsible consumption, and reduce textile waste. It not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also instills valuable lessons about responsible consumption and waste reduction in students. It can become an integral part of the school's commitment to promoting eco-consciousness and community engagement.

Theme-Zero waste (Upcycling) Reduce, reuse and recycle Upcycling plastic bottles is a creative and eco-friendly way to repurpose these common items and give them a new life, rather than throwing them away. Upcycling involves transforming discarded items into something useful or aesthetically pleasing. Students will research the ways to reduce plastic use in school. They will also reuse some of the plastic waste produced in our school by collecting plastic bottles, coffee capsules, and electronic waste for recycling or upcycling

Reduction of Paper Wastage and Reusing the Junk: We will talk about the reduction of paper usage and students from all classes will use their creativity to prepare the craft by reusing junk papers. Our Mini Green Garden: Students will delve into the art of planting and nature exploration. They will sow seeds and cultivate a petite garden in the school's outdoor space, contributing to the promotion of sustainability.
