Accessibility and inclusion are important indicators of successful, sustainable and equitable places, and are key priorities in the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Alongside Qatar Foundation (QF), we recognize our role in promoting accessibility and inclusion for people with all abilities.
For decades, QF has worked on creating specialized schools for specific needs [link to Renad and Awsaj Academy], and developing integration programs in its academy schools. It established the Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) within Hamad bin Khalifa University [link to TII site], and has led ability friendly [link] programs to promote health and wellbeing for people with disabilities in the community.
QF is also continually reviewing and making improvements to ensure its Education City (EC) infrastructure and website are accessible, enhancing life for our community.
At Earthna, we have contributed to the legacy of creating the most accessible World Cup in history, by supporting the services provided during the tournament. Around EC stadium, we hosted inclusive activities for performers and fans, and worked with FIFA to create the first ever permanent sensory room in a World Cup Stadium.
