Monday Earth Hour (8:15-9:15am) We will switch off electricity for one hour. During this time, children will write or draw a personal promise to help the planet.

Stefan Lindberg-Jones will be visiting United School International during our school Sustainability Week to deliver a talk titled, “Building a Sustainable Mindset in Schools”.
Stefan will visit on Wednesday 15th October and deliver three separate presentations to the Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Secondary students.
His presentations will focus on mindfulness, gratitude, and simple daily actions that support sustainable living, a wonderful opportunity to inspire our students!
نظمت بلدية ام صلال رحلة تعليمية وزراعية لطلاب مدرسة الزيتون الدولية الابتدائية الإعدادية الثانوية الخاصة الى مجمع ومزرعة السليطين بهدف تعزيز الوعي لدى الأجيال بأهمية الزراعة ودورها في دولة قطر.
حيث تم تنظيم محاضرة توعوية من خلالها تعرف الطلاب بالطرق الصحيحة لزراعة الأشجار وزيادة المساحات الخضراء واهمية التشجير في الحفاظ على البيئة ودعم الاستدامة
كما تم تعريفهم بالطرق الحديثة للزراعة مثل الزراعة المائية وطرق تلقيح النحل لنبات الفراولة
نظمت بلدية ام صلال ( عضو شبكة اليونسكو العالمية لمدن التعليم ) فعاليتين زراعيتين وتوعيتين بالتعاون مع مركز شباب برزان ومدرسة البشائر الخاصة .
تضمنت الفعالية مشاركة شباب ورواد المركز في زراعة شتلات من البيئة القطرية وتوعيتهم بأهمية وطرق الحفاظ على البيئة من اجل الاستدامة وكذلك التعريف بأجزاء النبتة لزيادة الوعي الثقافي والزراعي لدى النشئ.
The "Be Smart, Sort Your Part" is a school-wide awareness campaign of Gheras International School focusing on proper waste segregation through the use of durable classroom garbage bins that aims to strengthen students’ understanding and daily practice of responsible waste disposal. This weeklong sustainability initiative emphasizes the importance of maintaining an organized waste management system in every classroom.
This Sustainability Week, DBS will celebrate creativity, community, and conscious living! One of our talented staff members will be donating handmade scrunchies crafted from recycled fabric and hosting a hands-on workshop where students can learn to make their own from scrap materials.
Students across Primary and Secondary will also take part in a Sustainability Competition, presenting their ideas on how to protect the planet and promote sustainable living.
