📚 Pre-Loved Book Swap Event
Students and staff are encouraged to bring in gently used books to exchange, promoting reading and reusing instead of buying new.

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable living, the Sustainability Committee at Doha College is delighted to share our plans for Qatar Sustainability Week 2025. Throughout the week, our students, staff, and families will take part in a range of initiatives designed to inspire greener choices and celebrate our collective responsibility towards our planet.

As part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2025, Best Western Plus Doha will launch a comprehensive program titled “Because We Care – Best Western Plus Doha Sustainability Week 2025.”
The initiative combines environmental and social actions across six impactful sectors: 

• All teachers bring reusable bottles and mugs.
• Photos shared internally and on EGA’s sustainability display board.
  Learning Outcome:
  Staff lead by example, demonstrating sustainable practices to students.

• Students bring healthy, waste-free lunches.
• Discussion on how food choices and packaging affect the environment.
  Learning Outcome:
  Reinforces sustainability through daily choices and supports Qatar’s health and well-being goals.

• Students brainstorm innovative ways to reuse or recycle items at home and school.
• They present their ideas on posters or short videos.
• Best creative ideas are displayed on the IGCSE sustainability wall.
  Extension:
  Students relate their ideas to how sustainable practices enhance destination appeal in Qatar’s tourism industry.
  Learning Outcome:
  Promotes creative thinking, teamwork, and environmental responsibility.

• Year 12 students are introduced to the segregated recycling bin placed in the IGCSE corridor.
• Teachers demonstrate proper disposal methods for paper, plastic, and metal.
• Students are asked to relate waste management practices to Travel and Tourism Unit 6 – Sustainable Tourism Development.
  Learning Outcome:
  Students connect environmental practices to tourism sustainability within Qatar’s transport and hospitality sectors.

• Field trip to a Recycling or Waste Management Centre in Qatar.
• Students observe the sorting, collection, and recycling process firsthand.
• They take photos and videos to create an awareness presentation later.
  Learning Outcome:
  Students explore how recycling supports Qatar’s sustainability and environmental goals (QNV 2030).

Closing ceremony for Ministry of Municipality employees, in cooperation with the Cleaning Department, titled: "Sustainability Through Our Efforts" at onaiza park, Al Dafnaa. 

Doha Municipality participated in the Zero Environmental Harm Award Program by Qatar's Rail with the beautification and greening of the Rail stations. 

The parks department at Doha municipality installs environmentally friendly components and application of modern irrigation systems in the Al-Qatifiya Lakes, west bay.
