As part of Mowasalat (Karwa)'s sustainability initiatives we recycle all the used tyres of buses and taxis in an effort to reduce waste to landfill.

We generate about 11,000 waste tyres per year. All these waste tyres are donated to Qatar Racing Club to build racing track boundary.

This is an ongoing initiative which we conduct throughout the year.

All MegaMart Stores and Office's are doing Energy Savings, Paper Savings initiative by turning off lights and computers through timed devices

As Sustainable week also promotes Mental Health Workplace, we will provide in our office an awareness session by Flourishing Minds Organization to know the importance of Sustainable Mental Health in workplace and how to apply it.

We have shifted to printing documents to fully paperless operations to conserve paper and ink.

We use our digital capabilities to optimise this new way of working.

The Challenge: Students should think of a problem in their community or idea related to sustainable behavior, and what kind of solutions they would design to help overcome that problem.

Students are required to

1-   Design a creative poster (Digital Image).  

• Water: Use water efficient fixtures. Use timed and censored fixtures. Use eco-labelled appliances.
• Energy: Track and monitor consumption Switch off unused lights and electronics. Set AC temperature to 22– 24 ◦c when needed.

As part of Mowasalat (Karwa)'s sustainability initiatives we recycle food waste at our offices and drivers' accommodations. Almost 60% of the food waste collected is recycled and converted into compost.

At Mowasalat (Karwa) during the last eight months (Jan-Aug 2022) we recycled 35,391 Kg of food waste. These waste were converted into compost and organic fertilizer of 14156.4 Kg. This is an ongoing initiative at Mowasalat (Karwa).
