Tree Planting

On 12th October, Farmers at Heenat Salma will start the plantation. A team of 20 from Hilton Doha will join the farmers at the farm to plant the saplings together.

A dedicated area map will be shared with Hilton Doha clearly showing the area in the farm where Hilton Doha's 400 trees will be planted.

All 400 trees will be virtually onboarded to Hilton Doha's online dashboard using Verdura Care Qatar's global technology partner EcoMatcher's treecoder application.

Food wastage policy

The main Lulu stores using an innovative food waste solution named "ORCA" that recycles food waste by mainly breaking it down to water. The rest of the food will be broken down into carbs fast, and proteins which are then captured or repurposed

ORCA technology simply mimics a natural digestion process. It works using the same principles that our body, and other living organisms are governed by. with this machine to transform the food waste disposal into earth-friendly and planting water.

Water Savings

● We are recycling water in selected outlets for irrigation system.

● We are using flow control valve for our Faucets and Shattaf.

● We have Textile partnership with Aditya Birla Group (ABFRL) to reduce water consumption as part of sustainability initiative. ABFRL is a member of Ellen MacArthur Foundation. We also had discussion for sourcing textiles from their plants that are net energy positive, using recycled water or rainwater, and at least 60 percent of the materials repurposed
