We at Ginger Camel believes in investing for a sustainable environment, that is why we made a choice to share a ride with our colleagues everyday going to work, and back to our homes. It was a little sacrifice that we had give, but little did we know we are not just minimizing car emissions in Doha, it also gives us an opportunity to get to know the people we worked with even more⁠. It is a mixture of feeling good about doing something right while also enjoying the people who share the same belief and care for the environment with you.

Awareness needs to be created in a diverse way which can gage the attention of an audience. Social Media is a great tool to send a critical message across to millions and educate oneself. The topic is of a broad spectrum and many believe they can’t do anything about it and hence we need to start by the basic, which is merely educating the masses. Recycling initiatives, showcasing documentaries, training on the subject, planting a tree and discussion which entails clips from environmentalists like Leonardo Di Caprio , Greta Thungberg, Al Gore and David Attenborough.

We have already executed Beach Clean up last week that involved all of our staff members (can share pics). We've decided to place notes over all power switches (lights and AC), our office temperature is set to 21C (and we try to avoid using AC during cooler months), we also moved to water from dispenser (offering clients 'glass of water' instead of bottles), staff members living close by to each other have started doing car pooling.

In addition to last years initiative, Naufar is now showing even greater commitment by segregating organic waste and following the Baladyia led initiatives for even more detailed segregation.

An internal communication campaign has been launched in parallel to emphasize the importance of waste management on the environment.

Naufar is constructing a water polishing plant in order to reduce use of potable water and raise its own usage level of TSE (Treated Sewage Effluent).

In order to reduce the strain on the National Waste Water System, Naufar is installing an independent solution by drilling a deep injection well on its premises. By injecting this waste water into the ground between impermeable layers of rocks on our premises we are avoiding the pollution of Qatar's scarce fresh water supplies.

Starting in the upcoming months, Naufar will partner with various organisations in the country to provide educational sessions about the environment, sustainability, recycling, ecology and changing behavior to fight climate change.

We employees are provided with ceramic cups and drinking glasses to be used instead of plastic bottles. We are also serving drink on non-plastic materials for our guests.
