Qatar Sustainability Week, a National Campaign, aims to engage the community in a wide range of sustainability-oriented activities raising awareness among the wider community and showcasing the progress Qatar has made in the areas of sustainability. 

The week serves as a unique platform to promote the nation’s sustainability vision as well as community engagement with relevant stakeholders under an overarching umbrella to achieve the nation's sustainable development goals.

As part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2025 and our ongoing campaign "Lifelong Learning in the Age of AI", CARE Doha is organizing an insightful seminar focused on the intersection of education, technology, and sustainable development.

Earthna’s Mangrove Restoration Project, co-funded by Earthna and the MSC Foundation and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Qatar University, and Agrico, centers around the goal of restoring and extending the mangrove forests in the coastline of Qatar by 40 hectares.

Climate change mitigation requires urgent and innovative policy actions. Carbon pricing – putting a monetary cost on greenhouse gas emissions – has emerged as a key tool worldwide to drive emissions reductions and encourage cleaner practices. Over the past several decades, more than 70 carbon pricing initiatives (including ~37 carbon taxes and 36 cap-and-trade systems) have been implemented across national, regional, and sub-national levels.

This seminar will present original research on the role of Green Credit Lines (GCLs) in supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council’s transition toward a low-carbon economy, with a special focus on Qatar. Drawing on the newly developed GCL Implementation Potential Index (GCLIPI) and GCL Potential Impact Indicator (GCLPII), the session will provide a comparative analysis of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and pathways to maximize the role of green finance. 

Join us for an engaging and hands-on team building experience that brings sustainability to life! In this interactive workshop, participants will explore the basics of indoor plant care and sustainable gardening practices while working side by side with colleagues. Through activities such as soil mixing, potting, seed starting, composting, and water-wise gardening, teams will strengthen collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The Green Business SDG Conversion event, where we'll explore the latest fintech innovations driving sustainability and balancing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Post event we share insights and experiences on leveraging fintech to achieve a greener and more sustainable financial system.
