As part of Qatar’s Sustainability Week, Bonaparte School is organizing a Zero Waste Lunch Box Day on Thursday, October 3rd. The initiative aims to raise awareness among students and their families about the importance of reducing the consumption of pre-packaged products. The goal is to encourage healthier, unprocessed food choices that are better for both personal health and the environment.
Students will reduce plastic waste by bringing their own refillable bottles from home.
Also, they will turn off all electronic devices like Chromebooks, interactive panels, lights etc.. during registration time.
A group of students will interview with the Head of school about sustainability in different countries and how we might implement these ideas in Qatar.
We will conclude the week by paper collection and sending it to a recycling company.
Multi-disciplinary workshop related to sustainable development : science, physics and chemistry, technology, arts, history and geography, English, Arabic... all subjects that will be tackling themes such as water and global warming, the cities of tomorrow, gender equality, art production related to environment protection .... 1,000 of our secondary school pupils will be able to discover these workshops created by their fellow pupils in coordination with their teachers.
American School of Doha is challenging all of the members of its community to limit their showers to no more than 1 song! Our HighSchool Effect Club started the challenge and now everyone is getting involved. Any song will do, but here is a playlist that will work well to think about water while not wasting it!
Qatar Sustainability Week at our newly opened The Next Generation School (TNG) Nuaija Kindergarten Campus will be an annual celebration of our commitment to climate action and sustainability! This event showcases our dedication to a greener, more environmentally-conscious future and features a wide range of activities that promote positive change and a sustainable world for generations to come.

The grade 6 INS students at Swiss International School will spend Sustainability Week collaborating with turtle rescue projects in Qatar and the Maldives. They will gather data on how ordinary children in Qatar can protect endangered marine life and they will educate their community through their online magazine. Students will then adopt a sea turtle from The Olive Ridley Project.

As a part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2024, Business students of year 11 and 12 have organized inter-class competition and they will be presenting it via PPT and Charts on sustainable businesses of Qatar with the aim of spreading awareness on innovative sustainability practices in business activities used by various renowned businesses of Qatar.
Learn how to calculate and understand your carbon footprint. This activity raises awareness about the environmental impact of everyday actions and encourages participants to adopt more sustainable practices.
Mr. Ibrahim will provide the link to the science teachers, asking them to assign it to students as an assignment on Google Classroom to be completed during Sustainability Week.
Students will be required to upload screenshots of their work to the assignment.
