Expo2023 Doha is the first A1 international horticultural exhibition to be held in the Middle East and North Africa ‎region. it is organized by the state of Qatar under the Ministry of Municipality, and the ‎‎collaboration of many ministries and governmental entities‎.

The school will initiate and organize several activities during the Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2022 to accomplish Sustainability in both The Next Generation School and Qatar. Student Council will initiate the following Campaigns at school involving all the stakeholders with the ‘’Become a Zero Hero’’ initiative:

The main objective of these sessions is to raise awareness on sustainability issues, and in line with our Dare Today, Change Tomorrow strategy. We started to roll out the training sessions for our employees and suppliers to share with them sustainability approach, resource conservation and talked about possible initiatives for cooperation in sustainable future.

Launching our first Carrefour Aquaponics Farm in Qatar in cooperation with Agrico.The all-new initiative highlights the importance of sustainable solutions in the fresh food industry by providing alternatives to conventional farming.

Carrefour has had saving amounting to 9,300 tons of CO2 emission by usage of LED lighting in all stores and accommodation, applying the double glazing door insulation for refrigeration cabinets, VFD Variable frequency dryer for Refrigeration racks, UPS and chillers, Replacing CC chillers with latest technology system for energy saving, apply a monitoring system in all stores to have a daily power consumption control.

Collaboration with private sectors to promote health & wellness activations across our stores, to support and improve the health and wellness of the community and employees. Wellness program ideas include physical health initiatives to mental health support and healthy lifestyle initiatives.

Carrefour Qatar in collaboration with Al Rayyan Municipality and a group of students from First Assalam School participated in the ongoing one million tree-planting campaign. The initiative aimed to show our commitment to promoting environmental awareness in line with our Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability initiatives.

. Collaboration with Al Rayyan Municipality and a recycling company to organise an awareness event at one of Al Rayyan public parks.

. Collaboration with recycling companies to reach and sign agreements for waste collection. 

. Carrefour Qatar has begun installation of recycling bins across all its stores. 

. Collaboration with compost companies to convert food waste into organic compost, and to convert it to energy.
