Sustainable Campus

The College of Engineering and Technology is initiating a micro-mobility project in which select components will be manufactured through 3-D printing, using filament produced from recycled materials, including plastic bottles. This initiative emphasizes sustainable engineering and innovative manufacturing practices.

The Student Reach's Beach Cleanup 5.0

Student Reach is organizing its 5th Beach Cleanup, this time at the Singing Sand Dunes in Qatar. The initiative aims to bring together students and volunteers to preserve Qatar’s natural landscapes by removing waste and raising awareness about environmental responsibility. Through this event, we hope to promote sustainability, community engagement, and a shared commitment to protecting Qatar’s unique ecosystems.

Food 2 Food Project

Food 2 Food is our Group-wide initiative under Athar sustainability strategy, designed to reduce organic waste and promote circular resource management. 

In partnership with Wahab Eco-Probe, the project collects food waste from Alfardan Hospitality properties and converts it into nutrient-rich compost for agricultural use at Wahat Al Shafalahiya and Safwa

Office initiatives

 

1) Using filtered water dispensers instead of bottled water

  • New water coolers have been provided and positioned in all locations for easier accessibility in plant 3, 4, PF and Sales PC. This initiative has replaced use of bottled drinking water. 

 

2) Introducing segregated recycling bins (paper, plastic, metal, organic waste)

 

3) Reducing paper use and single-use plastics

 

4) Adding indoor plants to desks/workstations
