This display on sustainability in Qatar is to educate, engage and encourage our students to be more sustainable and aware of our impact on the planet in an effort to be more sustainable in the way we live our daily lives.

The QKONS Education City Tram Integration is a sustainability initiative led by QKONS in collaboration with Green Island and supported by the City Operations team at Qatar Foundation. The initiative aims to promote the use of the Education City Tram as a low-carbon, sustainable transportation option for students, staff, and visitors. Through this collaboration, NFC-enabled tags are installed inside trams, allowing users to tap and record their rides within the QKONS app, earning sustainability points and tracking their contribution to carbon reduction.

Qetaifan Projects – Sustainability Initiatives 2025

As part of Qetaifan Projects’ continuous commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and the United Nations Global Compact principles, the following initiatives highlight our key environmental, social, and awareness-driven actions that contribute to Qatar National Vision 2030 and support the goals of Qatar Sustainability Week 2025.

An awareness initiative promoting eco-friendly photography practices through natural lighting, waste reduction, and creative storytelling with environmental responsibility.

The College of Engineering and Technology is initiating a micro-mobility project in which select components will be manufactured through 3-D printing, using filament produced from recycled materials, including plastic bottles. This initiative emphasizes sustainable engineering and innovative manufacturing practices.

Art-based upcycling session converting plastic bottles into art installations, raising awareness on plastic pollution.  Will take place at Youth Fest - Al Bidda Park

Project Earthlings at Kings College Doha

Project Earthlings is a scalable, schools-based conservation programme designed to inspire the next generation through a unique, embedded conservation curriculum. This international, multi-school initiative aims to nurture environmentally conscious global citizens who understand and care for the natural world.
