Dr. Mona Matar Al-Kuwari

Dr. Mona is a sustainability professional with remarkable expertise in sustainable development, encompassing both social and environmental aspects. She continues to advance sustainability education and research through academic publications and consultations.

Dr. Mona has published in international journals and contributed book chapters, as well as conference contributions. Her commitment to sustainability is further exemplified by her representation of Qatar in various global and local committees, including her role as a representative with UNESCO's Education for All initiative. Dr. Mona's primary research interests revolve around the development and implementation of performance assessment strategies and frameworks, specifically within the context of Education for Sustainable Development. Her work is particularly relevant within Qatar's education system, where she has been a driving force in fostering sustainability initiatives.

Dr. Mona embarked on her journey with Qatar Foundation at the Qatar National Research Fund, where she served as a statistician. she then joined Strategy, Management and Partnerships in Higher Education at the Foundation as a Senior Data Analytics & Impact Assessment Specialist. Simultaneously, she effectively contributed to Qatar Foundation's Strategic Sustainability Initiatives.

She holds a PhD in Sustainability Studies from the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). She also holds a master’s in information system from the College of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the College of Science, both earned at Qatar University.
