Countries in the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa in particular, present particular challenges related to climate change. They will suffer from the most severe impacts of climate change, thus their adaptation needs are very critical. Many of these countries are major exporters of hydrocarbons, placing great pressure on their needs for economic diversification, and in finding technological solutions to decarbonize their exports.
