Celso Moretti

Celso Moretti has a BSc. in agronomy, a Master’s and a PhD degree in Plant Science. A results-driven and globally minded leader with 28+ years of experience in the area of agribusiness, he leads a team of 8,000 employees, including 2,100 PhD researchers, distributed in 43 Research Centers. He is alumnus (class of 2016) of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and a Courtesy Associate Professor with the University of Florida (Gainesville, USA). He has extensive international experience acting as board member, consultant and speaker in more than 40 countries. He is a board member of the Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition (London, United Kingdom) and the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (United Arab Emirates), among others. In 2021, he received the “Norman Borlaug Award”, in the category of “Sustainability”. He is the President of Embrapa since July 2019.
