In collaboration with Wealth Fair Economics, we will carry out a study that aims to create a methodology to accurately define and measure sustainability in Qatar.

The study will examine various sustainability frameworks, with a special focus on the capitals approach to sustainability that underpins the Changing Wealth of Nations methodology, developed by the World Bank. It will concentrate on identifying the unique composition of wealth in Qatar, using a variety of sustainability indicators to assess the relationship between human consumption of the country’s resources (including energy, food, water, carbon), economic activity, and the development of human and social capital. The study will also pay particular attention to the value of natural ecosystems in Qatar and justify their conservation.

The outcomes from the study will create a baseline, which can be used to inform and measure the success of future sustainability action. It will also provide a foundation to stimulate dialogue and engagement with stakeholders on how Qatar can contribute towards global sustainability targets.
