We are a start-up and we want to start it right! Helping sustain the environment while educating ourselves how to be disciplined citizens and residents by mindfully utilising our resources is the best way to manage our day to day business. We practice switching off office equipment that are not in use, no printing for internal communications, using double-sided printing, if necessary, we donate to charity, using AC at 22-23 degrees Celcius, and use of glasses instead of bottled waters at work and at our respective homes.
During the course of Qatar Sustainability Week, KEO will be running an internal initiative called 'Less Plastic is Fantastic'. Throughout the week staff will be encouraged to bring in their recyclable plastic and we will collect it! At the end of the initiative, we will weigh the collections and announce the results. KEO intends to beat the previous years results as a marker of continual improvement!
In line with Qatar Sustainability Week, and as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility, Qetaifan Projects will be running an internal competition where each employee will create a craft using recycled material and bring it to the office. Employees will then vote for the best craft, and the winner will receive a prize.
A week long of paper and plastic recycling and promoting the awareness among the employees.
The activity aims to:
Encourage the Mosanada employees to adopt eco-friendly initiatives geared at reducing waste nationwide and to remind the public that reducing the use of Qatar’s resources not only can improve business efficiency, but help to preserve the environment’s long-term health. We will collect recyclable materials such as the list below by providing a collection box to be stationed at the Gharafa A office, Gharafa B and Al Khor accommodation.
ASD invites members of its school community to bring in obsolete electronics to be recycled in a responsible way. Education about the importance of correct disposal of e-waste will be shared
As part of the Qatar Sustainability Week 2019, we will be pioneering some measures to reduce the level of energy being consumed within the property and continue applying the measures in the long term as well.
These include lower power and water consumption due to energy efficient engineering techniques used for both guest as well as employee areas.
We strongly believe in sustainability and hence make sure to recycle in every way deemed possible. Hence we at Mövenpick Hotel Doha want to take long term measures towards a green outlook.
Our cooking oil from the hotel's main kitchen will be sent to an outsourced entity where it will recycled and used for bio fuel production. This process will continue even post the week ends as a permanent activity.
As part of the Qatar Sustainability Week 2019 initiatives, we at Mövenpick Hotel Doha will be observing no elevator day on 27th October 2019 for guests as well as employees in order to do our part to consume less energy.
The same will be communicated to our guests through our in-room television screens in order to save paper which would have normally been used to send out letters to the guests for such activities.
