Marafeq Qatar employees will get a chance to hear from volunteers of the group “Make a Better Place” about the negative impact that single-use plastic has on the environment.
Marafeq Qatar employees will be able to immediately take a step to protect Qatar’s environment by signing on ongoing petition calling for supermarkets in Qatar to stop distributing plastic bags and to provide reusable sustainable alternatives instead.
We at Mövenpick Hotel Doha want to not only undertake initiatives during the course of the week but implement long term changes to support the sustainability cause.
One of these efforts involves changing our current non-biodegradable products used for take-away and delivery for the food and beverage sector to the biodegradable kind.

Our school Eco Club BIRLASPHERE, inaugurated the KITCHEN GARDEN for the year 2019. The eco club members will sow seeds of vegetables like tomato, Egg plant, coriander, pumpkin, ladyfinger, etc.
The kitchen garden project will conclude in February 2020.

In celebration of Qatar Sustainability Week 2019 and our commitment to environment and wellness, OCS Qatar will organize a 1 hour run on the 1st of November (Friday) from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM for office staff and top management to participate. This aims to encourage to be involve in fitness and enhance good health and wellness through exercise.
For Green Day 2019 Doha English Speaking School will be turning off all lights, teaching aids and electrical devices for one hour. During that hour, teachers and children will hold discussions on how we can contribute to making Qatar a sustainable country. They will also take part in litter picking, ECO fashion shows, creating recycled art projects and much more.
Georgetown University Qatar will be implementing the following Challenges for the QSW 2019:
Bedaya Center team will collect papers for recycling and it will be sent to Elite Paper Recycling
ECGC employees will gather to do the litter picking within the vicinity. Employees will be divided into groups and will have their own assignment of the area of their responsibility for this activity.
