Embracing sustainability, Oryx Group for Food Services pledges to make a positive impact during Qatar Sustainability Week 2023. Our initiatives include the complete elimination of plastic drinking bottles, opting for reusable cutleries, reducing water and electricity consumption to conserve power, and implementing the Paper Printing Control Initiative.

Mandarin Oriental, Doha's Third Natural Landscapes Conservation Initiative

Mandarin Oriental, Doha is keeping its commitment to environmental responsibility by conducting its third Natural Landscapes Conservation initiative in partnership with Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP), a leader in Qatar for raising environmental awareness in the fight against plastic pollution. On 02 November during Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2023, 39 colleagues of Mandarin Oriental, Doha conducted a conservation activity at the North-West beach in Al Zubarah Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage site, collecting 130 kg of waste washed off ashore.

Ghanim brings a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to environmental stewardship. During this event, Ghanim will share invaluable insights into how his ventures have been at the forefront of sustainable practices, making a positive impact on both business and the environment.

DAY 3: The Carbon We Emit When We Eat

AIM:The aim is to empower students with knowledge and a sense of responsibility, encouraging them to make more informed and sustainable food choices, which can contribute to a greener and more sustainable future

DETAILS :The teacher will explain that food impacts more than your health. It affects the environment, animals and people. What you eat, where it comes from, and how it was produced contributes to your FoodPrint — think of it like a carbon footprint, but for food.

Day 2

AIM : Encouraging students to incorporate sustainable habits into their everyday lives and recognize their part in promoting a greener, environmentally aware global community.

DETAILS:

1. An online Questionnaire-based on the sustainable practices Sustainable Lifestyle Scoreboard will be given to students on Day 1 as Homework.

2. Students can use ClassDojo to share a video with their teachers about the sustainability activities they are engaged in at home.
