As part of our commitment towards environmental responsibility and sustainability, and to show our continuous support towards Qatar Sustainability Week, the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center will activate a "GO-GREEN" Awareness Campaign by sending an email to all DECC Management and Staff members which will focus on importance of preserving the energy (switching off the lights when leaving work space, closing the doors to preserve the temperature, switching off A/C or reducing the Mode, etc.

The German Business Council Qatar has various corporate and private members (German and local). We will raise awareness among partner companies by encouraging them to take part in the week and demonstrate their activities.

Financial sustainability

Qatar financial center regulatory authority is organizing a session on financial sustainability Collaborate with Qatar banking studies and business administration school

Recycling is very important as waste has a huge negative impact on the natural environment. Harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses are released from rubbish in landfill sites. Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by waste.

Reducing carbon footprint & cutting down on electricity costs is as simple as turning off appliances when not in use. Today we will be reminding & encouraging our colleagues to turn off PCs, air conditioning and diming down the lights in the offices during non-peak hours to create awareness among our colleagues on the small part we play in conserving mother earth.

As a part of Qatar Sustainability week, Galfar is conducting a week along QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) awareness sessions, competitions, knowledge sharing workshops & Recognition programs.

GWSC Water Visitor Center is an educational facility that aims to educate the community about the importance of water conservation by dynamic, fun and interactive activities that make education entertaining and informative; they will learn about:

The hotel will promote a healthy living lifestyle. Staff will be asked to stop smoking to encourage them to spend a healthy day.  

The hotel will switch off the lights and will only be using natural day light in the lobby and the massage room. 

Carpooling is always a great pocket friendly initiative as it allows riders to split the cost of gas, cutting expenses by nearly 50% or more and most of all cutting down on carbon emissions. It also reduces health risks & stress level compared to commuting alone. We are carpooling today during our commute from our accommodation to the Hotel so why not you do too with your colleagues and neighbors.
