Students investigate unnecessary classroom lighting, design and test a LEGO EV3 sensor prototype to detect lights left on in unoccupied rooms, analyze potential electricity savings, and demonstrate their findings in a presentation and video.

Students develop original stories about water and food waste, draft short scripts, and perform them as interactive Forum Theatre. They invite audience solutions and sustainability pledges, reflecting collectively on audience responses.

Students measure reusable-bottle usage, deliver evidence-based persuasive speeches, create reminder cards, launch a school refill challenge, and produce a 60-second impact documentary communicating conservation results.

Student teams identify school waste problems and repurpose recyclable materials into useful items such as desk organizers, stationery holders, or plant pots, subsequently pitching their innovative sustainability ideas to peers and teachers.

Students audit reusable paper, cardboard, and packaging to design bookmarks, calligraphy signs, sculptures, or sustainable city models. They complete upcycled artwork, create a student-led Sustainability Pledge Tree, and count reused materials and visitor pledges.

Students collect discarded paper and cardboard, turn them into pulp, and prepare handmade recycled-paper canvases. They then create environmental Arabic calligraphy and upcycled art on these canvases, exhibiting their work and documenting the sustainability impact within the school.

TNG Wakra Year 7 students host sustainability consultant and Chief Business Development Officer Anastassiya Matsenko from MAVX Design Plus, WLL. The interactive session explores the inspiring topic “What If Your School Bag Were Made from the Arabian Gulf?”, engaging students in circular design, material innovation, and marine ecosystem conservation in Qatar.

Students from Years 5 and 6 participate in an immersive nature-based learning visit to the Bee Farm at Education City. Guided by farm experts, students explore the fascinating world of bees, understand the critical role of beekeeping in maintaining biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, and examine the structure of beehives and specialized apiculture equipment.

TNG Wakra students participate in an exclusive educational factory tour at Papercut Factory. Students gain a behind-the-scenes look at eco-friendly packaging design, sustainable manufacturing processes, and industrial recycling operations. The visit provides learners with practical insight into how businesses minimize paper waste, manage resource efficiency, and implement green operational practices.

As part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2026, a select group of TNG Wakra students visits Skydrops Sustainable Water Technologies. Students explore cutting-edge Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG) technology, learning how water is produced sustainably from the air to address water scarcity in the region. The visit highlights corporate contributions to reducing single-use glass and plastic waste, circular economy principles, and national-scale water security solutions without depleting natural resources.
