Awareness Activities

This Wednesday and Thursday, we will be learning about sustainability to help spread awareness and celebrate Qatar’s 2020 Sustainability Week. Our aim will be to bring an awareness of the planet and its resources and the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. As such, we will discuss ways to help create a more sustainable world and school. 

To make this day even more special, we are asking children:

• to wear green on Wednesday and Thursday of this week
• to register a personal pledge to help conserve our world's energy and resources.

Galfar is scheduling a week along campaign on creating awareness on environment/sustainability to all our employees, through various training sessions and small group exercise at project sites.

Live discussion with Leah Lizarondo, Co-founder of FOOD RESCUE HEROES - USA on how we can combine technology, logistics and community engagement to create a food recovery and redistribution network that effectively delivers fresh and perishable food directly to those who need it most.

During the Qatar Sustainability Week, the company’s team will stop using plastic bottles of water, instead they will use glass cups, minimize using paper, minimizing electricity waste. This initiative goal is to increase the awareness of community about saving the environment and encourage the sense of responsibility toward the community and state of Qatar.

تهدف مبادرة "لنحافظ على البيئة" إلى زيادة الوعي لدى موظفي الوزارة عن أسبوع قطر للاستدامة 2020 وذلك من خلال إرسال رسائل توعوية وتعريفية عبر البريد الإلكتروني الداخلي، وحثهم على تسجيل تعهد الالتزام بنمط حياة أكثر استدامة خلال أسبوع قطر للاستدامة ٢٠٢٠

في إطار المحافظة على البيئة، خصصت وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية يوم عمل بلا ورق من خلال تشجيع موظفي الوزارة على الاستغناء بشكل تام عن الأوراق واستبدالها بالمراسلات الإلكترونية وذلك ضمن المشاركة في فعالية أسبوع قطر للاستدامة 2020.

ضمن المشاركة في أسبوع قطر للاستدامة لعام 2020، قامت وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية بتوعية المشاركين في البرامج التدريبية التي يقدمها معهد الإدارة العامة عن أسبوع قطر للاستدامة وذلك من خلال تقديم عرض مختصر عن الاستدامة قبل بدء البرامج التدريبية، لتشجيعهم على تقديم المبادرات المختلفة للاستدامة .

تهدف المبادرة إلى تشجيع مراجعي مجمعات الخدمات الحكومية للمشاركة في تحقيق نمط حياة أكثر استدامه من خلال عرض الرسائل التوعوية والتعريفية على شاشات مجمع الخدمات الحكومية خلال أسبوع قطر للاستدامة ٢٠٢٠

During the Qatar Sustainability Week our people in Qatar will participate in a ''Minimize your waste competition'' and we invite you to join and compete with us! What does this mean? This means that from the 31st of October to the 7th of November our staff in Qatar will pledge to keep and separate all the waste that they have generated that week. At the end of the week your personal waste will be measured (in kg) and recorded. The person with the least waste generated wins. It's as simple as that and anyone can participate!
