Sustainable Urbanism Specialist

Dr Samie I. Kayani is a specialist architect-urbanist whose work sits at the intersection of sustainable cities and the Global South. He draws in his experience in masterplanning, sustainable urbanism, and the integration of traditional knowledge into contemporary practice, to understand how cities can evolve from their own histories and cultures. He holds an MEng in Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of Nottingham, and a PhD in Heritage from the University of Liverpool. His work spans some of the most significant urban and heritage projects, including the Lusail City Plan in Doha,  and the Restoration of the Historic Haramain in Makkah.
