The Recycling Art Workshop encourages students to explore creativity while learning the importance of reusing and repurposing materials. In this hands-on activity, students will transform everyday waste items such as plastic bottles, cardboard, paper rolls, fabric scraps, bottle caps, and old magazines into unique art pieces and decorations.
The workshop helps students understand that what we often consider trash can be turned into something beautiful and meaningful. It promotes environmental awareness by teaching the concepts of reduce, reuse, and recycle in a fun, engaging, and sensory-friendly way suitable for students with different learning needs.
Teachers and therapists will guide students through the creative process, supporting fine motor skills, sensory exploration, and teamwork. Each student’s work will reflect their individuality while contributing to a shared goal of protecting the planet.
At the end of the week, all artwork will be proudly displayed in a school-wide Eco Gallery, where families, staff, and visitors can view the students’ creations. The exhibition will serve as a visual reminder that sustainability starts with small actions and that everyone, regardless of ability, can make a difference.
