At Intercontinental Doha, we are collecting our used cooking oil and giving it to 3rd party companies to be recycled and used for bio fuel production.
Used cooking oils can be a serious problem for plumbing and Doha wastewater collection system. Cooking oil that’s poured down the sink - even if followed by hot water or soap, or flushed down the toilet, or put down the garbage disposal doesn’t disappear. It can gel and solidify into thick layers inside drainpipes, sewage pipelines, and sewage lift stations, constricting water flow and possibly backing up plumbing. It’s messy, smelly and costly to clean up.
