Sustainability in the Workplace

Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority

As part of its participation in Qatar Sustainability Week 2026, the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) is highlighting a range of sustainable office practices designed to encourage employees to be more environmentally conscious in their daily activities and contribute to reducing the organisation’s environmental footprint.

These practices include:

  • Battery recycling: Employees are encouraged to responsibly dispose of used batteries (personal ones may be brought from home) through a dedicated collection point available at the Front Desk.
  • Reusable water bottles: To reduce reliance on single-use plastics, employees are provided with QFCRA-branded reusable water bottles for refilling, rather than plastic water bottles.
  • Paper recycling: Dedicated recycling bins are placed around the office for non-confidential documents that do not require secure destruction, encouraging responsible disposal and recycling of paper.
  • Temperature regulation: Office temperatures are maintained at recommended levels to promote more sustainable and efficient energy use.
  • Reducing electricity consumption: Employees are encouraged to switch off or reduce the use of lights, electronic devices and other electrical equipment in offices and workspaces when they are not in use.

Through these everyday practices, the QFCRA aims to foster a workplace culture in which sustainability is part of employees’ daily habits and shared responsibility.
