Sustainability Fair @EMS Secondary

OVERVIEW

The EMS Secondary School will host a Sustainability and Cancer Awareness Fair on October 31st. We are linking the 2 awareness issues because sustainable and healthy living are reciprocal and intermutual. With a student population of approximately 900 students in Secondary, awareness and action plans can have a lasting impact on Qatar and the international world that the students move onto in the future. 

Activities Related to Sustainability 

1. Social Media Picture booth with sustainability hashtags etc. created by students
2. Table with items to increase awareness of alternative items related to sustainability (bamboo paper towels, shampoo bars, reusable vegetable bags for shopping, recycled pencils etc.) in conjunction with Ateliers Artea
3. T-shirt design contest to raise awareness
4. Healthy recipe books printed on recycled paper (to accompany a healthy bake sale)
5. Informational table with Nebras Power
6. Video competition to raise awareness about sustainability issues and solutions 
7. Informational table about water usage in Qatar with ideas to help students reduce water consumption 
8. Informational table about plastic and what a week’s worth of plastic from home looks like
9. Recycled art exhibit from Primary School
10. Paperless raffle(students will enter their names at the booths they go to on Chromebooks)
11. Whole school assembly with student speakers to raise awareness
