Qatar Sustainability Week at Iqra Academy
Iqra Academy
Qatar Sustainability Week provides an opportunity to raise awareness of environmental protection, conserve natural resources and encourage communities to adopt everyday practices that contribute to a sustainable future. As part of its commitment to developing environmental responsibility, Iqra Academy will organise a range of activities combining learning, creativity and practical participation.
1. Student Sustainability Projects
Pupils across KG, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 will undertake age-appropriate projects exploring topics such as recycling, water and energy conservation, and sustainable schools and cities. Pupils will present their ideas through models, posters and presentations, developing their research, creativity and teamwork skills.
2. Sustainability through Extracurricular Activities (ECA)
Dedicated activities during ECA sessions will reflect the aims of Qatar Sustainability Week. Practical tasks and creative activities will encourage pupils to reuse materials, reduce waste and adopt environmentally responsible habits at school and at home.
3. Kindergarten Green Day
Kindergarten will hold a ‘Green Day’, during which children will wear green and take part in age-appropriate, interactive activities. These will connect the colour green with nature and introduce children to caring for plants and protecting the environment.
4. Student Projects Exhibition
The week will conclude on Thursday 5 November 2026 with an exhibition showcasing pupils’ sustainability projects. Pupils will have the opportunity to display their work, explain their ideas and share what they have learnt, promoting environmental awareness and positive practices across the school community.
