Myth or Fact? What We Get Wrong About Sustainability
Ardona أرضُنا
Are paper bags really better than plastic? Does planting a tree cancel out your emissions? Is sustainability just about the climate?
Join us for an interactive seminar where you decide: myth or fact? Vote live from your phone, then see what the evidence says.
Part One – The fundamentals: Daniah Turjman, an Environment and Sustainability professional with 12+ years across government, consulting, industry and university teaching in Qatar, Lebanon and the UK, explains what sustainability means (Environment, Social and Governance), what organisations are doing about it and why, and how progress is measured.
Part Two – Myth or fact? The most common sustainability beliefs: not wrong so much as incomplete. Expect a few surprises.
We close with short films of people and organisations in Qatar making a real difference, because the ocean is made of drops.
Open to everyone: QSTP founders, interns, staff and the public. No prior knowledge of sustainability is needed
Date and time: Wednesday 4 November 2026, 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
Venue: Aladdin Al-Husseini Hall, Room 211-A, Innovation Center, Level 2, Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), Education City, Doha.
