McDonald’s Qatar Driving Positive Impact Across Every Touchpoint

McDonald’s Qatar, proudly operated by Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co. W.L.L., is redefining what it means to be a responsible quick-service restaurant. In alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, we integrate sustainability, education, inclusion, and community empowerment into every aspect of our operations.

Environmental responsibility is embedded in our business model. The opening of Qatar’s first Green McDonald’s branch in Msheireb Downtown Doha marked a major milestone, featuring e-bike deliveries, advanced waste-management systems, and sustainable packaging. We are also exploring the rollout of Energy Management Systems (EMS) across standalone branches to reduce emissions and improve operational efficiency.

Since 2017, McDonald’s Qatar has recycled used cooking oil into biodiesel across 79 branches in partnership with Green Brokerage for Oil W.L.L (GBO QATAR) Qatar's biggest used cooking oil collection & recycling company. We’ve transitioned to eco-friendly packaging, including paper bags, fiber-based lids, wooden stirrers, and plant-based Happy Meal toys. Waste management programs are active across most branches to further reduce our environmental footprint.

Through our corporate social responsibility platform, Rahlatuna “Our Journey,” we unite all our initiatives under one vision, supporting sustainability, education, health, and community development. Our employees regularly participate in environmental activities such as mangrove planting, beach clean-ups, and sustainability workshops, reflecting a strong culture of volunteerism and stewardship.

We believe in creating opportunities beyond our restaurants. Through partnerships with NGOs like Education Above All Foundation, we’ve contributed over QAR 710,000 to support underprivileged children and scholarship students in Qatar. Diversity and inclusion are central to our workplace culture. With 47% of our workforce made up of women and 40% in leadership roles, we proudly operate branches like Wadi Al Banat, run entirely by an all-female crew, setting a regional example of empowerment in the Quick Service Restaurant industry.

From Kiddie camps and Ramadan campaigns to environmental workshops and blood donation drives, McDonald’s Qatar continues to invest in the well-being of the communities we serve. Our support for cultural groups and schools further reflects our commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering unity.

McDonald’s Qatar remains committed to shaping a greener, more inclusive, and empowered future one initiative, one meal, and one community at a time.
