Description of the Mangrove Restoration Project and Community Engagement: Earthna's Mangrove Restoration Project, is centered around an ultimate goal: to restore existing mangrove forest, afforest new intertidal habitats with mangroves, and reforest dead forest patches in an area that amounts to 40 hectares. In addition to the scientific/ research stream of the Project, Earthna has a socio-economic stream. As part of this, they have started engaging with Communitues like the IBPC Qatar Sustainability Forum in activities of the Project.
IBPC Qatar Sustianability Forum wishes to be involved in a long lasting manner throughout the life cycle of the Project. We envision our mangroves to transform us all from simple observers to active nature stewards.
The activities that your the forum would start to be involved in depends on the needs of our Project on the day and can range from seedling care, maintenance of coastal nursery structures, restoration, mapping/ geo-tagging mangroves, and plantation to afforest and reforest.
