In celebration of Sustainability Week, Naufar is collaborating with the Ministry of Municipality – Public Parks Department to enhance local biodiversity and promote long-term environmental stewardship through a large-scale planting initiative. Together, the teams will plant 500 native trees, seasonal flowers, and shrubs across designated areas of the campus, reinforcing the shared commitment to a greener, more sustainable Qatar.

This initiative focuses on native species — plants that are naturally adapted to Qatar’s climate and soil conditions — ensuring resilience, lower water consumption, and better ecological balance. By selecting species that thrive locally, the project supports pollinators, enhances soil health, and contributes to carbon absorption, while reducing the need for intensive irrigation or maintenance.

Beyond the environmental benefits, this collaboration is also a community-building and educational effort. Staff and patients will have the opportunity to participate in the planting activities, gaining hands-on experience in sustainable landscaping and learning about the vital role vegetation plays in improving air quality, reducing heat, and fostering mental well-being.

Seasonal flowers and shrubs will add color and vibrancy to the facility’s surroundings, creating pleasant, restorative spaces that align with Naufar’s therapeutic environment. Informative signages will accompany the newly planted areas, sharing insights about each species and the ecological importance of native planting.

This partnership exemplifies how institutional collaboration can translate sustainability goals into tangible, visible impact. Each tree planted represents a living symbol of growth, renewal, and commitment — not only to environmental preservation but also to the health and harmony of our community.

Together with the Ministry of Municipality, Naufar takes another step toward a more sustainable, biodiverse, and beautiful Qatar — one tree at a time.
