Environmental Impact of AI

You've probably used AI today. But do you know what happened after you hit "enter"?

Behind every prompt there's a data center: electricity, cooling water, chips, minerals, and often a local community living next door.

An open workshop on the Environmental Impact of AI is for anyone curious, no technical background needed.

Together we'll:

• Look under the hood at how AI actually works
• Follow one prompt from your screen to the data center, and see how it affects local communities and the planet
• Find out which AI use cases take the most resources (some will surprise you)
• Work out what you can do to reduce the impact

Expect a lot of interaction and many “aha-moments” when you start seeing the big picture.

This event will be hosted at Nest Alfardan Tower Westbay
