Mangrove restoration Project

Around 20 Scouts (ages 12-18) will participate in this activity as part of the Mangrove restoration Project with Earthna. The day will include hands-on restoration activities such as site maintenance, removing seaweed from mangrove seedlings and trees, and of course the opportunity for each participant to choose and plant a mangrove that speaks to their heart! The visit will be guided by the project’s Chief Scientist, Dr. Aspa, who will share the story behind the project, the importance of mangroves in Qatar, and the challenges and opportunities of restoring these ecosystems. The exact timing will be confirmed closer to the date, as it will depend on the tides that day.

As a critical requirement for all scouting activities, at leas Two Adult leaders will also be present to supervise the scouts. The actual dates are flexible and will depend upon the site availability and working conditions there. The attendees will be notified well in advanced for making preparations.
