IBPC Qatar Climate Change Hackathon Competition

The Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) in collaboration with DPS Monarch International School will be organizing a Climate Change Hackathon on Thursday, 6th November 2025 at DPS Monarch International School as part of the Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW), and is delighted to invite schools to participate.

The hackathon is designed for students from ages 10 - 12 years offering them an exciting opportunity to ideate, collaborate, and build prototypes addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—with a special focus on climate action.
Each team will have 4 students and will be given an appropriate challenge prior to think about before the event.
Using the P3 Kit (People, Planet, Prosperity) – shown below, the students will work in teams to design creative, technology-driven solutions that make a real-world impact.
The session will run for 4 hours, culminating in presentations to a panel of judges and sustainability experts. Awards will be presented to recognize outstanding projects and all students will receive a participation certificate. A draft agenda is attached.

This initiative aims to empower young changemakers to think critically, apply STEM and design thinking skills, and contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future.

Each school may nominate one team to participate in the hackathon. As spaces are limited, we encourage you to register early to secure your spot.

An online orientation session will be held for all registered teams (students and teachers) before the hackathon. The session will provide details about the challenge, event guidelines, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions and seek clarifications.
