As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Al Tamimi & Company (Qatar) is fully committed to and engages several eco-conscious practises daily. We were one of the first law firms in Doha to secure the ISO14001 certification, reflecting our commitment to sustainability. We maintain a consistent plastic recycling program in partnership with a local company, with bi-monthly collections to ensure responsible waste management. As a full-service law firm, it is routine to require printouts of documents especially for complex court cases or big commercial deals. However, we encourage minimal printing in our daily operations, with print outs only when absolutely necessary. Any used printouts are collected and delivered to a local shredding company for recycling. To reduce energy consumption in our office, we promote the practise of switching off monitors, air conditioning units and other electronics when not in use, during breaks or at the end of the workday. We have also adjusted our default printer settings so that when people do have to print, printing is automatically double-sided and black and white to save resources. We also have eco-friendly procurement processes whereby we prioritise office supplies that are locally sourced, non-toxic, and recyclable. We also ration car parking spaces to encourage the use of car sharing the use of public transport.
Beyond our daily habits as highlighted above, Al Tamimi & Company regularly hosts firmwide awareness events throughout the year, including our Al Tamimi & Company CSR Week which runs from 6th to 9th October 2025. During this week, we emphasise, amongst other social responsibility efforts, the daily practises that contribute to environmental awareness and sustainability and how each team member, regardless of designation, can plug in. We also have a robust CSR Committee that is committed to encouraging the team to adheres to environmental sustainability practises. This is done by nominating internal champions within the office to monitor and promote green practices.
In addition, we regularly integrate ESG considerations into our corporate and commercial advisory work. We do provide free legal support to NGOs, green startups, or social enterprises working on environmental issues on a case-by-case basis.
Looking ahead, we are collaborating with our local partners to organise a tree planting initiative later this year (ideally in November) or by early in the coming year, contingent upon receiving the necessary approvals.
These efforts, just to mention a few, reflect Al Tamimi & Company’s ongoing dedication and commitment to fostering a culture of environmental sustainability in our workplace
