This seminar will present original research on the role of Green Credit Lines (GCLs) in supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council’s transition toward a low-carbon economy, with a special focus on Qatar. Drawing on the newly developed GCL Implementation Potential Index (GCLIPI) and GCL Potential Impact Indicator (GCLPII), the session will provide a comparative analysis of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and pathways to maximize the role of green finance.
The seminar will also address how GCLs can catalyze renewable energy adoption, support SMEs, and align with Qatar’s ambitious national energy targets. By combining policy insights with financial and technical perspectives, the session will contribute to Qatar’s ongoing sustainability dialogue and offer actionable recommendations for policymakers, financial institutions, and corporate stakeholders.
