Qatar International Golf Club - Sustainability Field Trip

Sustainability is critical to the vision of Qatar International Golf Club and together with GEO (Golf Environmental Organization) sustainability features center around enhancing nature, conserving resources and supporting local communities. This detailed process begins at the design stage and carries through to the operation of the golf course. Examples can be found within; - Preserving and saving local tress indigenous to Qatar - Reducing water usage through a perch water table and gravity flow drainage - Utilizing raw material from the site produced during excavation Students will receive a discussion from our GEO certified superintendent. Discussion topics will include; • Golf course design for sustainability • Understanding of Soil Profile at QIGC • Unique features supporting sustainability at QIGC • Management strategy for course sustainability once operational
