Spectra Sustainability Week

Spectra Global School is encouraging all the stakeholders to participate in the Spectra Sustainability drive 2021.

We have planned various activities to promote Qatar vision 2030 and make sustainability as a part of our daily lives.

• 2021-22 academic year, Spectra Global School decided to stay away from plastic bags and started to use reusable bags to delivery of uniforms and books  

During the sustainability week we have lined up activities:

• Switching off the lights for 1 hour during the day.  
• Year 4 to 6 Students to Watch documentary “A life on our Planet. This documentary is about our impact on earth and how we can make our lifestyle more sustainable. 
• Foundation stage to Year 3 to watch Videos about 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
• Turning our AC up by one degree uses less energy and helps provide a healthier ecosystem for all. By turning AC up by one degree, we contribute to a healthier environment by saving precious energy resources. By turning our AC up by one degree, we can help lessen the amount of CO2 emissions by using less energy.
• Encourage eco habits reducing our plastic waste. Encouraging students/staff to use reusable water bottles .  
• Wearing Green on Thursday (28th Oct 2021)
• Staff/students will be encouraged to register a personal pledge to help conserve our world's energy and resources.
• Stickers & Poster to promote knowledge about Sustainability
• Screen savers about sustainability
• The school has launched an initiative to encourage our Admin team to bring indoor plant and to care for the plant through out.
• On the health side, we are educating employees about breast cancer awareness, Event name "Mothers & Daughters"
• We have initiated a program, to reuse used tired for plantation.   
• Bottle cap collection - later to be used for school decoration.
• Collection of onetime plastic bottles to send for recycling.
