Sustainability initiatives and its continuous improvement have always been a part of GWC’s operations across all our facilities globally. The following activities are the key areas of sustainability implementation:
- Waste management and recycling (ZERO landfill disposal)
- Energy consumption and conservation monitoring
Retrofitting older HVAC fixtures with energy-efficient systems to reduce consumption
Retrofitting of old halogen lights in warehouses with LED lights
Occupancy sensor-based lighting for warehouses
Replacement of conventional streetlights with solar-powered streetlights.
Installation of skylights in warehouses to reduce the need for normal lights by utilizing daylight.
Installation of smart meters with cloud-based monitoring to monitor the energy performance of buildings
- Water consumption monitoring and reduction
Retrofitting taps and faucets with aerators to reduce the water flow rate.
Daily security inspections for water leaks in the offices/facilities.
Use of Treated Sewage Effluent water for irrigation to reduce the use of potable water.
Installation of smart meters with cloud-based monitoring to monitor water consumption of buildings.
- CO2 emission monitoring and reduction
Route planning – All our vehicles prior to transport are advised on the optimal route to take to reduce CO2 emission and fuel.
All our vehicles undergo scheduled maintenance for optimal vehicle performance and efficiency.
Special projects for sustainability
Installation of a Sewage Treatment plant in one of our largest facility to treat sewage water to produce TSE which shall further be used for landscape irrigation for the facility, hence reducing the need for potable water.
