Desertification—one of the many impacts of climate change—has the potential to cause great human suffering by reducing resources such as water and arable land, which will decrease the viability of agriculture. Its consequences could include famine, migration and conflicts, all of which are likely to be most acute in the poorest countries in South-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East and North African region.

We will develop and deploy solutions to tackle the impact of desertification in hot and arid environments, with a particular focus on enhancing resilience at farm level in Sub-Saharan Africa.
